No specific car parking for the bank itself. Paid car parking available for 80p an hour and £1.20 for 2. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the wait doesn’t tend to be too long.

Shame they couldn't give me an account... Hey! Their loss

Nationwide Building Society

1 Station Rd, Reading RG1 1LG, UK – 0800 554 0387

This branch has good customer service and never seems to be too busy - a convenient alternative to the Broad St branch.

This bank has good customer service and real you real get a warm welcome I would bank with this bank .

26 Broad St, Reading RG1 2BU, UK – 0345 740 4404

I'm banking with HSBC for nearly 15 years now and never had a problem until recently that made me have to actually go over to the branch to solve (unable to be dealt with online or over the phone) . Staff was helpful and professional although in the end lady was unable to give me the answers i was there after on the day because of her restricted employee tier level access to customer data - basically she could not tell me more than I already knew nor give answers to what I didn't. Thankfully as it came out I was able to access help from management tier - without no extra waiting manager was with me dealing with my problem like a PRO giving answer to every question I had and solving my problem with him was a breeze and overall healthy conversation! Thanks HSBC 👏👏👏

Very helpful staff i been using hsbc for nearly 15 years lots of improvement in branch hsbc offer cash withdrawals coin sorting machine pay in cheques and lots of other services

Nationwide Building Society

14 Church St, Reading RG4 8AR, UK – 0800 554 0361

A very convenient Banking facility that has friendly staffs and a cash machine on site. Parking facilities are not on site but very close to the location.

Nationwide tried to close this down in 2013 or so, meaning the closest branch would have been one of the 2-3 clustered together in Reading were the closest, but they relented after public pressure. It's small but functional, and it's not a bank. Best of all worlds, really.

Local Chambers of Commerce for RG6 4PB. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. What you put in is exactly what you get out. Below is the national site. Watch this slot - it might improve!

Dental Surgeries

The Evergreen Dental Centre

448 Wokingham Rd, Earley, Reading RG6 7HX, UK – 0118 966 9991

All staff are friendly and accommodating and the actual building is modern, clean and presentable. The range of treatment options & equipment used the techniques etc, to me, seemed to be the latest and most modern. The dentists are more interested in saving teeth when they can rather than just pulling, they will run through every option possible with you to ensure you get back to a clean bill of dental health. Kind of like taking your car into a garage, they will give you a full looking over and recommend any necessary treatment, then its up to you to decide with no pressure whatsoever. I am very grateful for the treatment I received here and will not think twice about coming back to them.

All the members of the team work with the patient and are welcoming to everyone. After having some work experience here, I have seen a new side to dentistry - learning lots of new things etc. All the team are very knowledgeable and the use of new techniques is very interesting.

Alexandra Dental Practice

74 London Rd, Reading RG1 5AS, UK – 0118 986 8167

Following my visit yesterday I have as usual received an excellent service. Myself and my family have been patients at the Alexandra Dental Practice for many years and I always know that I am in safe hands whether it is just for a 6 monthly check-up, root canal work, treatment for the symptoms of teeth/jaw clenching or a visit to the hygienist. Andrew and the whole team are friendly, reassuring and above all, are professional on every level and the dental treatment provided is second to none. I would not consider ever moving away from this practice.

I have been with this practice for a very long time. The level of service and support over all these years has been excellent. All the staff are friendly , helpful and will ensure you get an appointment as soon as possible. I have just finished a lengthy course of treatment by having a implant fitted. Andrew has been trying to convince me to have this done for years and finally I gave in. I guess I was worried about the amount of work and discomfort. Why did I worry? The complete procedure was simple, painless and the final result was amazing. Thank you all at Alexander Dental Practice.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Never had any trouble getting an appointment and the service I’ve received from my doctor has been first rate.

Nice friendly staff, relatively easy to get an appointment, my only gripe would be the lack of parking, they do have a small car park but dont count on getting a space.

Wilderness Road Surgery

Circle Reading Hospital

100 Drake Way, Reading RG2 0NE, UK – 0118 922 6888

This is an excellent Hospital very clean. All staff are very helpful, professional and you could not ask for more. Before my operation they constantly checked me the procedure explained to me fully. I came out of Hospital for the first time pain free. Thank you for the excellent care.

My husband had two cataract operations and on both occasions received excellent care and attention from the surgeon, Miss Sarah Lucie Watson, and all her team. Everything was clearly explained so he had no worries, and the procedure was painless. He is very pleased with the result.

The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Earley

Piwnica Restaurant

Very good food. Big portions. Cozy inside. Friendly service. Reasonably priced.

Such an unassuming place from the outside it's easy to not notice, but it's well worth a visit. When you're inside, the place is fun and interestingly decorated, staff are really attentive, and the food is scrumptious! Can't wait to go back

Cosmo Reading

35-38 Friar St, Reading RG1 1DX, UK – 0118 959 5588

They have all you can eat buffet for lunch and dinner with a selection of many Asian dishes for £15.99 for dinner. The options are so many you will definitely find something you like. It's definitely quite a popular restaurant in Reading and has excellent reviews so for sure I'd recommend The service was also great, quick and helpful staff.

Great choice of foods, friendly staff. I do appreciate that fact it's a fast moving place and food is always fresh but I only gave 3 stars as I found what I thought to have been a bone in my chicken, but when I took it out my mouth it was hard plastic. Could have done some damage if swallowed 😐

Miahs Garden Of Gulab

130-134 Wokingham Rd, Reading RG6 1JL, UK – 0118 966 7979

From the moment I entered I was greeted by friendly staff. The atmosphere is warm and sort of intimate with low lights. They offer a wide selection of Indian food that is flavourful. The food is reasonably priced and quite a lot as some of my friends had to ask for their food to be placed in containers to take home. I would revisit.

Really top class food. Presented well and ingredients very fresh. Not many Indian restaurants are this good. Thanks.

The Abbey School

17 Kendrick Rd, Reading RG1 5DZ, UK – 0118 987 2256

Both my daughters attend The Abbey School in Reading. They came from a hot house of military academic drilling in a fiercely competitive London school. The Abbey has been a God send. The staff have nurtured and cared for them brilliantly. I doubt we would have received a fraction of the pastoral care from a similar top independent London day school. And the academics speak for themselves. My husband and I (and both girls) couldn't be happier. We love The Abbey.

The abbey school is absolutely amazing and it never let us down !

St Joseph's College

Upper Redlands Rd, Reading RG1 5JT, UK – 0118 966 1000

A great independent school, co-ed and progressive in outlook. Our son has attended since 2012. It won the TES Independent School Of The Year award in 2015, won the Outstanding Progress (Independent Schools) category in July 2016, and was the winner of a national Leadership Award in November 2016. Teaching staff and nurturing culture is great, teaching and music facilities are strong, and sports facilities are much improved from five years ago. Highly recommended.

A school that works hard at ensuring each child is supported. Truly lovely staff, definitely recommend if you are looking for a small school with a family feel.
