After School Care

Earley Centrepoint After School Club

Chalfont Close, Earley, Reading RG6 5HZ, UK – 0118 975 5239

Great after school care club. My daughter always comes home full of stories of the wonderful things she's been doing and making. The staff are really friendly and approachable. Better than the club held at the school as it is much bigger, has better facilities and she gets to make friends and mix with other kids from different schools. Really good value for money too as only £10 per session which includes a cooked meal, art stuff, tabbard and collection from school.

Secondary Schools

Maiden Erlegh School in Reading

81 Crescent Rd, Reading RG1 5SL, UK – 0118 966 8065

We are very happy about the multi-dimensional activities at the school. The school is well equipped with modern and appropriate facilities. The teaching and non teaching staff is immensely cooperative and supportive. The school is quite careful about the safety and security of the students. The cultural and behavioral aspects are also well focused and balanced by the school. - Mr. Sukhad Kulkarni

The school is very welcoming and staff work hard to get to know pupils strengths and individual needs. We have found the school very approachable and supportive.

The Abbey School

17 Kendrick Rd, Reading RG1 5DZ, UK – 0118 987 2256

Both my daughters attend The Abbey School in Reading. They came from a hot house of military academic drilling in a fiercely competitive London school. The Abbey has been a God send. The staff have nurtured and cared for them brilliantly. I doubt we would have received a fraction of the pastoral care from a similar top independent London day school. And the academics speak for themselves. My husband and I (and both girls) couldn't be happier. We love The Abbey.

The abbey school is absolutely amazing and it never let us down !

St Joseph's College

Upper Redlands Rd, Reading RG1 5JT, UK – 0118 966 1000

A great independent school, co-ed and progressive in outlook. Our son has attended since 2012. It won the TES Independent School Of The Year award in 2015, won the Outstanding Progress (Independent Schools) category in July 2016, and was the winner of a national Leadership Award in November 2016. Teaching staff and nurturing culture is great, teaching and music facilities are strong, and sports facilities are much improved from five years ago. Highly recommended.

A school that works hard at ensuring each child is supported. Truly lovely staff, definitely recommend if you are looking for a small school with a family feel.

Special Needs Schools around you

Addington School

Woodlands Ave, Woodley, Reading RG5 3EU, UK – 0118 966 9073

This is a special needs school. This school gives extra curricular activities and helps students who can’t speak or need help in other things. This school never expels students not matter what their behaviour is. But the only problem about it is how this school educates students. This school could stick to one subject for along time or could teach no subject and have extra free time. This school sometimes even gives baby stuff to year 6 students. Overall I think this school might need some improvements. I AM SORRY IF THIS TEXT WAS TOO LONG BUT I REALLY CAN’T WRITE THIS IN A SHORTER WAY BECAUSE I AM QUITE LAZY!!

Good primary school in woodley

Phoenix College

40 Christchurch Rd, Reading RG2 7AY, UK – 0118 937 5524

After reading Vincent Kent's review from what the school was like as Reading Alternative school I can proudly say that it has come along leaps and bounds from the "dumping ground" that it seemed to be. I appreciate what Vincent said about the type of child being misunderstood and labelled, but thankfully staff are better equipped to address the SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs of the students now. We still have those students who do not succeed with us, as is the case with any school, but we are proud of the progress we make with most students and parents are appreciative of the changes in their children that are noticeable at even the earliest of stages. We have had numerous "Good" results from Ofsted and won the Pride of Reading School of the Year in 2015. So Vincent, things have changed for the better.

Thames Valley Wine School

We did a six wine and cheese pairing session. Outstandingly good combos. You will not be disappointed. Caters for all levels of wine knowledge from newbie to expert. Phil was very knowledgeable about both wine and cheese and had obviously honed the selections after years of work.

I highly recommend the 8 week wine tour for anyone that wants to learn more about wines from all round the world in a fun environment. Phill is very informative in a fun and entertaining way and also gives you the opportunity to taste nearly 60 fantastic wines over the course. This is a brilliant course and I wish it would last for a few more weeks and I have had a great time!
